General Terms & Conditions

Rental Period
A minimum one-day charge is applicable on all hires, which are a 24-hour period from time of pick up. At ORIX additional hours will be charged at 1/5 of the daily rate to a maximum of four hours, after which an extra full day will be charged.

Rates Include:

• Daily hire
• Standard Insurance
• Unlimited kilometres (except where specified)
• GST (Goods & Services Tax - 12.5%)

Insurance
Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance including third party and public liability is included in our rates. An accident damage excess of $1500.00 including GST, does apply however. This excess may be reduced to $150.00 including GST at the renter's option, at the time of rental, by purchasing Accident Excess Reduction, for an additional $15.00 per day, GST inclusive. The renter will be fully liable for any damage to the ORIX vehicle and any third party property, if the Terms and Conditions of the rental contract are breached. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is not included in our rates.

Driver Qualification
The minimum rental age is 21 years. All intending drivers must present a valid full New Zealand or approved overseas driving licence, which has been held for at least one year. A current international driving licence must accompany driving licences issued in a language other than English.

Restricted Roads
ORIX vehicles are prohibited from the following roads:South Island: Ball Hut, Mt. Cook; Skippers Canyon Road, Queenstown; Crown Range to Cardrona State Highway 89. North Island: 90 Mile Beach, Northland; Coast Road to Russell, Northland; or any unsealed private roadway.Driving on these roads constitutes a breach of the rental agreement and the renter would be fully liable for any damage to the ORIX vehicle or Third party property occurring as a result.

Vehicle Availability
Due to fluctuations in demand and unforeseen circumstances, your preferred vehicle choice may not always be available. We may offer you an alternative which we trust will meet your expectations.

Fuel
Fuel is not included in our rates. We provide a full tank of fuel at commencement of hire and we request you refill the vehicle with a full tank. Where this is not convenient, we will refill the tank and on charge you at the prevailing rate applicable by ORIX Rent A Car at the time.

Inter-Island Travel
You may take your ORIX Rent A Car vehicle on the InterIsland ferries between the North and South Islands. If the vehicle is not returned to the location of hire a repositioning fee may apply.

One Way Rentals
Rates are based on vehicle hires picking up and returning to the same location, i.e.. Auckland to Auckland. One way rentals are available on request, however this is restricted to certain locations and a one way drop off fee or charge may apply.

Traffic Regulations
We supply with all vehicles a copy of the "Driving Safely in New Zealand" brochure to ensure hirers are familiar with all New Zealand Traffic regulations. Safety Belts and Child/Baby Restraints are required by law; please advise if there are children under 5 travelling. If the hirer is fined or penalised for breaking any Traffic law, they pay the fine plus all costs incurred as a result.

Payment
ORIX welcomes Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club cards. If you wish to pay cash / cheque for your rental, you may do so at the time of finalising your rental contract.
